Dr. Ross MacDonald, MD, is the Chief of Medicine for the newly created Division of Correctional Health Services for New York City Health and Hospitals. In this role he oversees the provision of medical care for the 60,000 patients incarcerated annually in the NYC jail system. Dr. MacDonald and the Correctional Health Services team have published and presented at national conferences on issues at the interface of public health and criminal justice, including traumatic brain injury, solitary confinement, dual loyalty, substance use disorders and the epidemiology of incarceration.
