Erin Connelly, MPA, is the Associate Director for Communication for CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. She leads communication strategy for CDC’s injury and violence prevention programs, including responsibility for news media relations, digital communication and marketing, and leadership and oversight for health communication initiatives, campaigns and interventions. Prior to joining the Injury Center in January 2011, Ms. Connelly worked for several years on strategic communication and partnership development in CDC’s National Center for HIV, Hepatitis, STD and TB Prevention. She joined CDC in 1999 as a Presidential Management Intern after earning a bachelor in journalism and a master in public affairs from the University of Texas at Austin.
