During that time, he has prosecuted a variety of criminals for charges including first-degree murder, gang-related crimes and third-strike cases. He has been with the Major Narcotics Division for seven years. His focus in Major Narcotics has been the prosecution of over-prescribing physicians, doctor shopping, capping and Rx drug diversion. Over the course of the last five years, Mr. Niedermann has prosecuted 13 doctors, in addition to scores of their support staff, for various crimes ranging from the sale of narcotics, illegal prescribing, the unlicensed practice of medicine, fraudulent billing, over-prescribing and grand theft.
