Hart_Stebbins_Maggie-lgMaggie Hart Stebbins has represented District 3 on the Bernalillo County (NM) Board of Commissioners since 2009. She came to the Commission with extensive experience in public service, including working for the U.S. Congress, the New Mexico House of Representatives, and the Mid-Region Council of Governments. Ms. Hart Stebbins has partnered with multiple organizations, individuals and providers as well as state and local governments to identify behavioral healthcare gaps, needs and priorities in central New Mexico. Her particular focus is on identifying strategies for reducing rates of addiction and overdose deaths. She has sponsored legislation to encourage collaboration among local governments and sponsored two statewide summits bringing together stakeholders in the areas of prevention, harm reduction, treatment and law enforcement. A graduate of Harvard University, Ms. Hart Stebbins is active in many community organizations and has served on numerous boards, including the New Mexico Children’s Foundation, the New Mexico Mutual Group Board of Directors, Albuquerque’s Open Space and Biopark Advisory Boards, the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court Judicial Selection Commission, and the YWCA.
