Mary Elizabeth “Mel” Elliott serves as CADCA ‘s Vice President for Communications, Membership and IT. Spanning 18 years at CADCA, Elliott has worked in policy, training, development, management and communications. Ms. Elliott shares coalition success stories and advances prevention through all of CADCA’s communications channels. Ms. Elliott leads CADCA’s extensive medicine abuse prevention efforts, developing tools to help coalitions promote medicine safety and address over-the-counter and prescription drug misuse, abuse and addiction. Ms. Elliott serves as the Principal Investigator for CADCA’s Geographic Health Equity Alliance, a CDC-funded network helping the states and communities hit hardest by tobacco and cancer-related health disparities. Prior to working at CADCA, Ms. Elliott served as children’s policy advisor for the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
