Melissa Williams, MPH, serves as the Coordinator of State Government Relations with the National Patient Advocate Foundation (NPAF). Prior to joining NPAF, Ms. Williams served as the senior program evaluator for Humanitas, Inc., where she reviewed health and wellness programs for Job Corps, a federal job-training program for at-risk youth administered by the Department of Labor. Ms. Williams also has a strong clinical background having worked directly with patients in both emergency and primary care settings, and has volunteered in her hometown’s free clinic where she worked to help provide comprehensive medical care to uninsured patients. These past experiences helped foster a deep passion to improve patient access to high-quality, affordable health care. Ms. Williams is a graduate of the College of William and Mary where she received her bachelor’s degree in biology and Eastern Virginia Medical School where she received her MPH in health management and policy.
