Paul Burholt, MSW, is a Clinical Social Worker with a strong background in teaching, counseling and psychotherapy. Having focused on pastoral counseling in the United Kingdom, he earned his master’s in social work at Yeshiva University in New York City. Mr. Burholt has worked in a variety of professional settings, including a psychiatric hospital and a community mental health agency in New England, with an emphasis on women’s issues, and then his own private practice. He was a member of a group psychotherapy practice in Texas. At the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Mr. Burholt provided counseling for soldiers dealing with the personal toll taken by multiple deployments, especially marriage counseling and cognitive processing therapy for PTSD. More recently he has been serving our veterans at the Atlanta VA, providing home-based intensive case management for the severely mentally ill before joining the Empower Veterans Program (EVP) in the fall of 2014. Mr. Burholt helped to create the Whole Health curriculum of EVP, and he has facilitated this training since its rollout.
