Ushvani Persaud, MSW, LCSW, LISW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing medical and clinical social work for over nine years in hospital settings. She obtained a bachelor’s in psychology from Queens College, City University of New York, and a master’s in social work from Stony Brook University, State University of New York. he completed graduate social work internships at Stony Brook University Hospital Neurosurgery Unit and at Mastic Beach High School, and worked at Arizona State Hospital as a Forensic Psychiatric Social Worker and at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as a Medical Social Worker in multiple medical specialties. As a Clinical Social Worker with Empower Veterans Program at Atlanta VA Clinic, Ms. Persaud helps veterans with bio-psychosocial assessments and interventions, admission and discharge planning, crisis interventions and short-term counseling and case management services.
